On August 7, 2026, Nukus hosted a public dialogue with representatives of the Nukus City and Khojayli District Hokimiyats, departments responsible for family and women’s affairs and youth affairs, mahalla chairpersons, tourism businesses, civil society organizations, the media, project participants, and the team of DMO Karakalpakstan. The event also included a consultation meeting and an award ceremony for the winners of the business ideas competition, organized within the “Youth and Women - Ambassadors of Sustainable Tourism in Karakalpakstan” project, implemented by DMO Karakalpakstan with the support of the European Union, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and the “Yuksalish” National Movement.

Opening the meeting, M. Kosnazarov, Chairman of DMO Karakalpakstan, spoke about the goals of the project, the results of the training sessions, and the business ideas competition, emphasizing the importance of supporting youth- and women-led initiatives aimed at developing sustainable tourism in Karakalpakstan.

During the public dialogue, representatives of the Nukus City and Khojayli District Hokimiyats, tourism entrepreneurs, project participants, and local community representatives discussed sustainable tourism development, the needs of local communities, and prospects for further cooperation. Participants emphasized the importance of bringing together the efforts of government authorities, businesses, and civil society to implement new tourism initiatives and enhance the region’s tourism appeal.

One of the key highlights of the meeting was the presentation of the best business ideas developed by project participants. Authors from Khojayli District and Nukus presented their initiatives aimed at developing Karakalpakstan’s tourism potential, creating new tourism products, supporting local entrepreneurship, and introducing modern approaches to tourism.

The meeting concluded with an award ceremony for the winners of the business ideas competition. The best initiatives were recognized with certificates and commemorative gifts.

In closing, M. Kosnazarov, Chairman of DMO Karakalpakstan, thanked the participants for their active engagement and emphasized that projects like this contribute to sustainable tourism development, expand opportunities for young people and women, and strengthen cooperation between government institutions, businesses, and local communities.
