On June 13, 2025, the first meeting of the Youth Tourism Club was held at the office of DMO Karakalpakstan. This initiative aims to unite active and creative young people who are interested in developing tourism in our region.

The meeting began with a welcoming speech by the director of DMO Karakalpakstan, Mr. M. Kosnazarov, who spoke about the purpose of creating the club and its importance for promoting the tourism image of Karakalpakstan. During the event, there was an interactive session called “Traveler's Map,” where each participant shared their favorite places in Karakalpakstan and dreams for tourism development.

The club’s mission was presented at the meeting: to create a community of caring youth who will promote the region at the local and international levels and shape a sustainable, responsible, and culturally rich tourism future.

The main goals of the club were also discussed:

·       uniting youth interested in tourism into a single platform for communication and joint initiatives;

·       improving participants' knowledge and skills through trainings, master classes, excursions, and internships;

·       developing and implementing youth tourism projects (eco-tours, blog tours, cultural routes, etc.);

·       forming a team of young tourism ambassadors of Karakalpakstan;

·       promoting the tourism image of the region through media and storytelling;

·       supporting sustainable tourism development, environmental education, and cultural heritage preservation.

Opportunities for participants

Club members will have the chance to take part in tourism projects and events, trips, internships, volunteer programs, as well as implement their own ideas and initiatives. During the meeting, a brainstorming session was held where participants shared their proposals for projects and events they would like to organize. At the end of the meeting, participants registered and enjoyed informal networking over tea and coffee. Each participant also filled out a questionnaire to officially join the new community.

The creation of the Youth Tourism Club is a significant step in developing the tourism sector of Karakalpakstan. Youth is a driving force capable of bringing new ideas and innovative approaches to the region’s development.
