On July 24, 2025, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Public Association "DMO Karakalpakstan" and the Public Association "Destination Osh" (Kyrgyz Republic) with the aim of jointly developing the tourism sector, promoting cultural and natural heritage, and implementing sustainable tourism initiatives.

The goal of the agreement is to establish a strong partnership between the regions focused on strengthening interregional cooperation, developing cross-border tourism, and creating sustainable tourism products.

Key areas of cooperation include:
- promotion of the cultural, historical, and natural heritage of the Osh region and the Republic of Karakalpakstan;
- organization of joint events, festivals, info tours, and exhibitions;
- development and promotion of new tourist routes;
- exchange of experience and implementation of educational programs for guides, tour operators, and MSME representatives;
- support for sustainable and eco-tourism initiatives;
- attraction of investment into the tourism sector and development of local tourism businesses.

The signing of the memorandum marked an important milestone in the visit of the "DMO Karakalpakstan" team to the Kyrgyz Republic, during which meetings were also held with representatives of the tourism sector, local authorities, and active industry players.

By joining forces, we aim to build a solid foundation for sustainable tourism that contributes to the economic growth of both regions, the preservation of cultural identity, and the improvement of tourism infrastructure.

This memorandum is not just a formality, but a practical tool for launching joint initiatives and deepening regional cooperation in the field of tourism.
